Senior Associate Structured Credit Trader

Job Title: Structured Credit Trader - Senior Assocaite

Location: London

Our client is seeking a proactive and technically proficient Structured Credit Trader at the Senior Associate level to join thier team in London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trading and risk management of structured credit instruments, with a focus on securitized products, credit derivatives, and bespoke financing solutions. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative investment strategies and products, while actively managing risk and driving profitability across structured credit markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trade Execution & Pricing: Execute and price trades across structured credit products including Repo, CLNs, Repacks, TRS and credit-linked notes, ensuring optimal risk-return profiles and adherence to regulatory frameworks.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and manage market, credit, and liquidity risks associated with structured credit positions. Implement and adjust hedging strategies using CDS, interest rate swaps, and other derivatives.
  • Portfolio Management: Support the management of structured credit portfolios, including performance tracking, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
  • Product Structuring: Collaborate with structuring and sales teams to design and launch bespoke structured credit solutions tailored to client needs, including total return swaps, repack notes, and synthetic exposures.
  • Market Intelligence: Analyse market trends, pricing dynamics, and relative value opportunities across structured credit markets to inform trading decisions and strategy development.
  • Quantitative Modelling: Apply financial engineering and modelling techniques to evaluate complex credit structures, assess risk, and support pricing and valuation.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure accurate trade booking, P&L attribution, and reconciliation. Contribute to the refinement of booking methodologies and automation of trading workflows.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders including risk, legal, compliance, and technology to support product innovation and ensure robust trade lifecycle management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree from a top-tier university, preferably in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or Physics.
    • Minimum 2:1 or GPA 3.5+.
  • Professional Experience:
    • 2-5 years of experience in structured credit trading, securitized products, or credit structuring.
    • Proven track record in executing and managing structured credit trades and developing investment products.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel/VBA, Python, or other modelling tools.
    • Familiarity with pricing models for structured credit instruments and derivative products.
  • Market Knowledge:
    • Deep understanding of structured credit markets, securitization structures, and regulatory landscape (e.g., Basel III, CRR, STS).
    • Experience with credit ratings methodologies and collateral analysis.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
    • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
