Systematic Trader (Tier-1 Quantitative Trading Firm)
We are partnering with a leading global quantitative trading firm seeking a Systematic Trader to join its London-based trading team. The firm operates sophisticated systematic strategies across global markets and is renowned for its investment in technology, data, and trading infrastructure. This role sits at the centre of the trading operation, providing direct ownership of live strategy monitoring, risk management, and trading performance. The successful candidate will work closely with quantitative researchers, software engineers, and traders to ensure systematic strategies perform efficiently in dynamic market conditions while contributing to the continued enhancement of the firm's trading platform.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage live systematic trading strategies across global markets
- Analyse trading, risk, and performance metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and optimisation opportunities
- Make real-time decisions during changing market conditions to ensure efficient strategy execution and risk control
- Develop a deep understanding of market microstructure, electronic trading, and exchange dynamics
- Partner with researchers, developers, and trading teams to improve platform functionality and strategy performance
- Support the deployment of new trading strategies, products, exchanges, and market initiatives
- Design and enhance monitoring tools, workflows, and operational processes
- Develop event-driven trading frameworks and playbooks around key macroeconomic and market events
- Take ownership of trading controls and risk management processes across live strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, or another quantitative discipline from a leading university
- Previous experience within electronic trading, systematic trading, quantitative trading, or market-making environments
- Strong understanding of financial markets and market microstructure
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across trading, research, and engineering functions
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive and self-motivated, with a strong desire to learn and improve processes
- Python programming experience preferred
- Experience working within Linux environments is advantageous
