Private Equity Senior Associate

Selby Jennings is partnering with a private equity firm focused on partnering with entrepreneurs and management teams in the lower middle market. The firm specializes in buyouts, recapitalizations, corporate divestitures, and strategic add-on acquisitions for platform companies. This is a firm that is currently deploying capital while also raising a new fund. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team early, gain exposure across the full investment lifecycle, and work directly with seasoned investors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on multiple live deals as part of a lean, collaborative team
• Lead financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence efforts
• Support deal structuring, investment memos, and presentations to the investment committee
• Assist in legal documentation and transaction closing
• Engage in portfolio company initiatives, including strategic add-ons and operational improvements
• Gain exposure across targeted sectors: industrial manufacturing, specialty chemicals, building products, energy products/services, and logistics

Qualifications:

• 1-2 years of PE experience (Prior 1-2 years of Investment Banking background a plus)
• Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills
• Excellent writing and communication abilities
• Ability to thrive in a small, entrepreneurial team environment
• Commercial mindset with interest in lower middle market investing
• Desire for broad exposure and long-term growth within the firm
