We've recently partnered with an operationally focused Lower Middle Market Aerospace & Defense Private Equity firm based out of the Atlanta, GA area looking to add someone on at the Associate level. The firm has been around for ~10 years and have positioned themselves to be one of the top PE funds in the nation from a returns standpoint. With a new fund upcoming, the team is now looking to add someone on at the junior level to come in and assist the team with most aspects of the deal process. This individual upon strong performance would have the ability to grow long term with the firm and be rewarded for doing so. With a lean team this individual will have easy access to mentorship from senior leadership as well as get the chance to join an organization that has a strong tight-knit culture. Start date for the role is fairly flexible and comes with a competitive compensation package for the area. Responsibilities:

  • Providing outstanding investment research, evaluation, and execution
    • Assisting with acquisitions, investments, financings, and strategic alliances/joint ventures
    • Preparing materials to support the Firm's investment process and to communicate with prospective collaborators
    • Combining qualitative and quantitative research when evaluating investment opportunities
    • Preparing for meetings to form strong judgement and good instincts on the topic
    • Seeking diverse perspectives and working to disconfirm beliefs
  • Actively supporting portfolio companies
    • Interacting with and developing rapport with company management, board members, and our Strategic Partner network to support strategic planning, execution, and growth
    • Supporting business development, operations, financial activities (budgeting, reporting, forecasting, financial analysis), and other functions (human resources, information technology, risk management, etc.)
    • Participating in board meetings and serving as intermediary between company management and investment firm resources
  • Representing the Firm
    • Developing relationships built on trust and respect with key collaborators
    • Representing our Firm in meetings and at events, effectively conveying our strategy and operating principles
    • Sourcing investment opportunities and generating ideas based upon these interactions

Requirments:

  • Bachelor's degree with distinguished performance
  • In-office position based in Atlanta, Georgia
  • Minimum of one year relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, capital markets, or corporate finance
  • Proactive mindset with strong and apparent work ethic; willingness to "go the distance" to complete tasks; an ownership mentality
  • Deep competence in financial modeling and forecasting
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • Computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Willingness to utilize AI tools to enhance productivity.
  • Interest in working with a small, agile, and flexible team that operates with a bias towards action and a highly-collaborative, partnership-based approach
  • History of uncompromising integrity, sound judgment, an ego under control, being proactive/coachable, the capacity to build trust/respect, and excellent performance
  • Focus on and commitment to introspection and constant improvement
  • Interest in the above as applied to defense, government, aerospace, telecommunications, and critical infrastructure markets
