Private Credit Associate

Selby Jennings is partnering with a private credit and equity investment firm with over $3B in AUM across sponsor-backed transactions in the lower middle market.. This is a pre-MBA Associate opportunity to join a tight-knit investment team in Houston. The role offers high deal velocity (6-10 transactions/year) and exposure across the full investment lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work on 3-4 live deals at a time as part of a 3-person deal team
• Lead financial modeling, credit analysis, and due diligence
• Support deal structuring, credit memos, and investment committee presentations
• Assist in legal documentation and transaction closing
• Monitor portfolio companies and contribute to asset management
• Gain exposure across a generalist platform (healthcare, software, industrials, business services, etc.)

Qualifications:

• 18-24 months of investment banking or LMM transaction experience
• 3.5+ GPA from a top university
• Strong modeling, writing, and communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and thrive in small teams
• Direct ties to Houston or Texas
• Broad sector exposure
