Our client is the multi-strategy hedge fund arm of a globally recognised investment management firm overseeing more than $50bn in assets. As part of a significant strategic expansion, they are seeking to hire their first Portfolio Manager focused on Index Rebalancing strategies to establish and scale the capability from their New York office.
This represents a rare opportunity for an experienced PM to join a well-capitalised platform that combines the entrepreneurial freedom of running an independent book with the stability, infrastructure, and long-term mindset of a major institutional asset manager.
The Opportunity
Unlike traditional pod shops, this platform operates within a highly collaborative environment where Portfolio Managers are viewed as long-term strategic investments rather than short-term performance hires.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a dedicated Index Rebalancing business, with full ownership of investment decisions, risk management, and execution. Each PM runs a standalone book and acts as the sole trader for their strategy, benefiting from direct control over implementation and portfolio construction.
The firm is particularly interested in meeting PMs whose strategies have the potential to scale significantly and deploy in excess of $1bn of capital over time.
