Financial Reporting Manager - Health Insurance Industry

A leading health insurance organization is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its Financial Reporting division. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional with strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities, looking to make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and review of GAAP and Statutory financial statements and filings.
• Oversee general ledger reconciliations and ensure accurate claims reporting and payments.
• Manage subsidiary accounting and ensure compliance with corporate, statutory, and federal guidelines.
• Stay current on healthcare reform topics, including medical loss ratio filings and reporting.
• Develop and document accounting policies and internal controls.
• Plan and execute strategic financial projects that support organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's preferred).
• Active CPA certification required.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in financial reporting.
• Strong working knowledge of GAAP and Statutory accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with mainframe-based general ledger systems preferred.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
