Investment Banking Associate

Location: Denver

A leading middle‑market investment bank is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Associate to join its growing team. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical capabilities, transaction experience, and the ability to manage deal processes in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment. This role provides significant exposure to senior bankers, clients, and live transactions across a diverse set of industries.

Responsibilities

• Lead financial analysis and modeling, including detailed valuations (DCF, comparable companies, precedent transactions), leveraged buyout modeling, and accretion/dilution analysis.
• Support execution of M&A, debt, and Special Situatios transactions, including process management, due diligence, data room oversight, and coordination with legal, accounting, and other advisors.
• Prepare high‑quality client materials, such as pitch books, CIMs (Confidential Information Memoranda), management presentations, board materials, and industry analyses.
• Conduct in‑depth industry and company research to support business development and transaction execution.
• Manage and mentor analysts, providing oversight on modeling, materials, and workflow prioritization.
• Engage directly with clients, contributing to strategic dialogue, presenting analyses, and supporting negotiations.
• Work closely with senior bankers to originate and execute new business opportunities.
• Ensure process excellence, maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism across all workstreams.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of prior experience in investment banking.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree preferred but not required.
• Strong command of financial modeling, valuation methodologies, and corporate finance principles.
• Exceptional proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial databases (Capital IQ, PitchBook, FactSet) a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex concepts into clear outputs.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines with a high degree of attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills and comfort interacting with senior executives and clients.
