Role Overview: Governance & Risk Analyst
As a Governance & Risk Analyst, you will support the oversight and enhancement of a firm-wide program focused on managing and mitigating risks associated with end-user developed tools and applications. This role is instrumental in ensuring that these tools align with internal governance frameworks, industry best practices, and robust control standards. You will collaborate closely with risk management teams and business units to assess, monitor, and strengthen the control environment surrounding user-developed solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversight & Monitoring: Maintain and update the inventory of end-user tools, ensuring accurate tracking and timely resolution of identified issues or control gaps.
- Control Testing & Validation: Conduct detailed assessments of user-developed applications to verify logic integrity, data accuracy, and compliance with internal standards.
- Reporting & Analysis: Prepare clear, data-driven reports and dashboards to communicate program status, findings, and trends to senior leadership and governance committees.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a subject matter resource, advising internal teams on control expectations, documentation standards, and risk mitigation strategies related to user-developed tools.
- Policy Compliance: Evaluate adherence to internal policies and procedures through structured reviews and testing of control effectiveness.
- Project Support: Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and special projects aimed at enhancing operational risk practices and technology governance.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Finance, Business, Accounting, or Information Systems-or equivalent experience in risk, compliance, or audit functions.
- 1-2 years of experience in financial services, consulting, or regulatory environments, with exposure to risk governance or internal controls.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and identify control weaknesses or process inefficiencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Access; familiarity with data visualization tools like Power BI is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated integrity and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding organizational values and compliance standards.
