Fund Manager
A newly established entity within a well-regarded investment firm in Luxembourg is seeking a highly motivated and hands-on Fund Manager to support the CEO in building and scaling operations. The entity currently manages 8 funds (AIFs and UCITS) and is backed by the main organization, which provides support across several processes. The Fund Controller will play a pivotal role in setting up and overseeing Finance, Valuation, and Fund Administration functions, while also acting as a strategic sparring partner to the CEO.
Responsibilities
- Corporate Finance :
- Compute monthly/quarterly fees (active/passive)
- monthly management of accounting closing
- quarterly reporting to Group + CSSF
- Payment management (workflow management, communication with third party accountant)
- Payment forecasting (monthly)
- Budget planning (2 sessions per year)
- Manage the statutory audit
- Tax : manage transfer pricing, CIT, VAT … overall process, control and declaration
- Liquid Assets/Alternative Assets administration
- Liquid funds : Validate daily NAV and properly manage accruals in conjunction with third party central admin
- Alternative funds :
- Validate bi-weekly NAV/Quarterly NAV for Alternative Assets + answer to questions from Investment Manager
- Manage capital calls process and coordination with central admin/depositary
- Answer to ad hoc questions from Investment Manager
- Manage statutory audit
- Manage tax matters such as quarterly taxe d'abonnement, VAT …
- Valuation
- Participate in valuation computation of investments in direct private debt instruments (mark to model)
- Contribute to improve the mark to model.
- Procurement
- Create and structure the procurement function
- IT
- Contribute to development of database/future intranet
Profile
- Proven experience in fund control, finance, or fund administration within the asset management or investment fund industry.
- Strong understanding of AIF and UCITS structures, Luxembourg regulations, and fund operations.
- Comfortable working in a startup-like environment with a hands-on, flexible approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent in English; additional languages (e.g., French or German) are a plus.
