Financial Controller

Currently representing an expanding global commodity trading company- specializing in oil & gas. This firm is in search of a Financial Controller in the Beverly Hills area. This individual will oversee all accounting functions, provide strategic insights, and ensure compliance. Given that the firm is growing- this role will eventually manage international financial operations and compliance.

COMP - $160-180k

Responsibilities:

• Knowledge of both GAAP and IFRS standards
• Develop strategies to mitigate currency exchange rate risks and manage foreign currency exposures.
• Lead the prep and analysis of monthly and annual financial statements. Including consolidating financial statements for the entire company and its subsidiaries.
• Help implementation of international accounting operations while company grows globally
• Partner with the CEO to provide financial insights / advise strategic decision-making
• Safeguard company assets
• Coordinate and manage annual audits with external auditors.
• Manage international tax planning and compliance, including transfer pricing and VAT.
• Direct all accounting operations
• general ledger
• accounts payable/receivable
• fixed assets
• revenue recognition
• billing.
• Oversee the monthly close process in a timely manner
• Strengthen internal controls.
• Lead small accounting team
• Identify and mitigate financial risks, including credit, operational, and compliance risks.

Qualifications:

• CPA REQUIRED
• Bachelor's degree in accounting related field
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS and internal controls
• Experience with NetSuite preferred.
• Prior experience in the fuel/gas distribution industry strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage change in a growing organization.
