Financial Control Accountant
Selby Jennings is partnering with a private investment firm who is seeking a sharp individual with 2-5 years of experience to join the Financial Control team within their Family Office. They will assist multiple departments in using technology to create solutions and improve processes. The work environment is open, team-based, and fast-paced. This firm invests in many areas including real estate, banking, energy, aviation, and distressed /high yield credit markets.
The Financial Control team serves as the firm's fund accounting function, managing trade settlements and financing activities. In this role, the analyst will support operations for securities and derivatives while maintaining accounting for multiple domestic and offshore entities, each with diverse investment strategies. From day one, the analyst will gain hands-on experience with complex cash and position reconciliations, as well as transaction analysis sourced from portfolio managers, traders, brokerage firms, and prime broker accounts.
The ideal analyst candidate will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with excellent academic credentials
- 2-5 Years of Corporate Accounting/Finance experience at a Big 4 or Mid-Tier firm, hedge fund, PE firm, Family Office or Fortune 500 corporation
- CPA is preferred but not required
- Proficient use of MS Excel with a strong emphasis on financial modeling and database applications
