Director of Tax

Our client, a long-standing leader in agriculture, food production, and real estate development, is seeking a Director of Tax for their headquarters in Fresno, CA. This position will oversee all tax planning, compliance, and reporting activities across multiple entities and ownership structures, while managing a small in-house tax team and partnering closely with senior leadership. You'll play a critical role in optimizing tax outcomes, supporting estate and succession planning, and advising on strategic transactions such as acquisitions and entity restructuring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead tax planning and compliance for corporate, partnership, and individual entities.
• Develop strategies to optimize tax outcomes and support long-term business goals.
• Advise on complex transactions, including M&A and real estate development.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and manage audits.
• Mentor and manage tax staff while driving process improvements and technology adoption.

Qualifications:

• CPA required; Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance (Master's in Taxation preferred).
• 7+ years of progressive tax experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role.
• Strong technical knowledge of multi-entity structures and tax provisions.
• Background in agriculture, real estate, or related industries is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence at senior levels.
