About the Role:

The Director of Finance & Accounting will report directly to the CEO and lead all financial operations, strategy, and compliance. This role is ideal for a CPA with strong leadership skills, a hands-on mindset, and a passion for building high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead finance, accounting, payroll, and compliance functions
  • Oversee financial reporting, audits, and GAAP adherence
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Prepare board reporting packages and strategic insights
  • Monitor cash flow, capital planning, and risk management
  • Supervise tax filings, retirement plans, and lease administration
  • Ensure internal controls and policy compliance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support growth and profitability
  • Stay current on industry trends and best practices
  • Serve as Trustee for defined contribution plans and ensure ERISA compliance
  • Maintain relationships with market support and leadership teams
  • Support sustainability, safety, and company values

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA required, with public accounting experience
  • 8+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, including leadership roles
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and financial modeling expertise
  • Experience in retail or multi-unit operations preferred
  • Skilled in financial reporting, budgeting, and P&L oversight
  • Familiarity with federal income tax and retirement plan administration
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Dynamics Great Plains experience preferred
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work flexible hours as needed
