Director, Institutional Sales
We are partnered with a leading institutional investment manager seeking an experienced Institutional Sales professional to drive business development efforts across U.S. public pensions, corporate pensions, endowments, foundations, Taft-Hartley plans, and institutional consultants. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new relationships, expanding existing partnerships, and raising assets across a broad suite of fixed income and customized institutional investment solutions.
This position offers the opportunity to work directly with senior investment professionals while representing a highly regarded investment platform known for its institutional client focus, long-tenured investment team, and tailored portfolio solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a business development strategy targeting public pension plans, corporate pension plans, endowments, foundations, Taft-Hartley plans, and institutional consultants.
- Build and maintain relationships with CIOs, investment officers, pension trustees, consultant research teams, and investment committees.
- Drive asset growth across a range of institutional investment capabilities, with a primary focus on fixed income solutions.
- Lead prospect meetings, consultant presentations, due diligence sessions, and industry conference participation.
- Partner closely with portfolio managers, client portfolio managers, product specialists, and client service teams throughout the sales process.
- Maintain a robust pipeline of institutional opportunities and provide regular updates on fundraising activity and prospective mandates.
- Monitor market trends, consultant recommendations, and institutional allocation activity to identify new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of institutional sales, consultant relations, business development, capital formation, or client-facing investment experience.
- Existing relationships within the public pension, corporate pension, and institutional consultant communities.
- Strong understanding of fixed income markets and institutional portfolio construction.
- Demonstrated success raising assets from institutional investors.
- Ability to discuss investment strategies, portfolio positioning, and market outlooks with sophisticated allocators.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
