Responsibilities
- Oversee the identification, assessment, and strategic management of distressed and high-risk credit exposures.
- Develop tailored restructuring strategies and evaluate borrower recovery potential using forward-looking financial modeling.
- Review and interpret financial statements, restructuring plans, and legal documentation to support decision-making.
- Make independent credit recommendations and decisions within delegated authority, including provisioning assessments.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulatory standards, including regular reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Engage in negotiations with clients and external partners to structure viable recovery or restructuring solutions.
- Contribute to internal projects aimed at enhancing risk frameworks, digital tools, and policy development.
Profile
- Academic background in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in credit risk, restructuring, or special situations within a financial institution.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to credit risk and loan recovery in Germany.
- Proficiency in financial reporting standards (IFRS, HGB, US-GAAP) and cash flow analysis.
- Familiarity with export credit agency (ECA) financing is advantageous.
- Analytical mindset with strong judgment and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- Self-driven, structured, and comfortable working in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.
