Overview
A private equity‑backed financial services platform is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead and evolve its accounting function during a period of continued growth. This is a high‑impact leadership role with full ownership of accounting, reporting, controls, and team development, working closely with executive leadership and the PE sponsor.
This role is well suited for someone who enjoys building and refining processes, maintaining strong technical standards, and serving as a true business partner rather than operating in a narrow, compliance‑only seat.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full accounting function, including month‑end close, financial reporting, and consolidation across multiple legal entities
- Ensure timely and accurate GAAP financial statements and management reporting
- Lead audit, tax, and regulatory processes, coordinating with external auditors and advisors
- Design, implement, and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies as the platform scales
- Partner with the CFO and leadership team on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
- Evaluate and improve accounting systems, workflows, and reporting infrastructure
- Build, lead, and mentor the accounting team with a focus on accountability and scalability
- Support integration efforts related to acquisitions or new business lines as applicable
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility
- Background in public accounting followed by industry experience is highly valued
- Experience in financial services, investment management, lending, or related environments preferred
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with practical, hands‑on execution ability
- Comfortable operating in a PE‑backed, growth‑oriented environment
- Proven ability to build processes, improve close efficiency, and lead teams
