Overview:
- Review and evaluate general liability claims to determine coverage, liability, and damages.
- Investigate claims by gathering relevant documentation, interviewing involved parties, and consulting experts when necessary.
- Analyze policy terms and conditions to assess claim validity and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with legal counsel, adjusters, and other stakeholders to resolve complex claims efficiently.
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files and documentation throughout the lifecycle of each case.
- Communicate claim decisions and updates clearly and professionally to insured parties and internal teams.
- Monitor claim progress and ensure timely resolution in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential fraud indicators and escalate suspicious claims for further investigation.
- Provide recommendations for claim settlements and negotiate resolutions within authority limits.
- Stay current on industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes affecting general liability claims.
Responsibilities:
- Bachelor's degree in business, insurance, law, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 3+ years of experience handling general liability claims, preferably in a commercial insurance environment.
- Strong knowledge of general liability coverage, legal terminology, and claims handling procedures.
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations governing liability claims.
- Excellent analytical and investigative skills to assess complex claims and determine appropriate outcomes.
- Proficient in claims management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with claimants, legal counsel, and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation skills.
