Overview

We are seeking an Associate Vice President to join our Corporate Research team, supporting coverage across the Consumer, Retail and Consumer Goods sectors. This role offers the opportunity to develop deep sector expertise while contributing high-quality research, financial analysis and market insights that support lending decisions, client engagement and broader business activities across the bank.
The successful candidate will combine strong analytical capabilities with commercial awareness, providing timely and insightful assessments of industry trends, company performance and credit fundamentals. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis across the Consumer, Retail and Consumer Goods sectors, monitoring market developments, competitive dynamics and emerging trends.
  • Analyse company financial statements and operating performance to assess business strength, financial health and credit quality.
  • Support the production of sector research, company profiles, industry updates and thematic reports for internal stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance and developments across key industry participants, identifying opportunities and risks relevant to the bank.
  • Assist in evaluating lending opportunities and transaction-related activities through detailed company and sector analysis.
  • Gather and synthesise information from a range of sources, translating complex data into clear and actionable insights.
  • Prepare presentations and briefing materials for senior stakeholders.
  • Work closely with coverage, credit, risk and product teams to provide sector intelligence and analytical support.
  • Develop expertise in the Consumer and Retail landscape, building an understanding of key market drivers and long-term industry trends.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Approximately 1-2 years' experience in research, banking, credit analysis, consulting or a related analytical role.
  • Experience within Consumer, Retail or Consumer Goods sectors is advantageous but not essential.
  • Exposure to financial analysis, company assessment or industry research.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and assess company performance.
  • Understanding of industry dynamics, market trends and competitive positioning.
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, concise and high-quality research.
  • Proficiency in preparing presentations and communicating insights to stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
