Selby Jennings was honored to sponsor and present at the Quant Summit Virtual, hosted by Risk.net. This event took place virtually from July 13th – 16th, and gathered top quants from around the world while showcasing the latest quantitative research in risk management, portfolio construction and trading, across four days of virtual sessions.

Our Selby Jennings team joined industry-leading professionals and hosted and shared their insight across the program of panel discussions and workshops. On the third day of the Summit, Selby Jennings Executive Director, Ben Hodzic, served as the Chairman for the day’s sessions, and delivered an address to the delegates and esteemed speakers.

“As a market leading service provider for Talent Acquisition within Financial Services, we are honored to Chair this event and take part in the wider conference for the second year in a row,” says Hodzic. “The need for skilled Quant’s who can navigate the ever-changing market conditions is more apparent now than ever before, and we’re excited that we were able to bring our own unique perspective to the event.”

Following the opening address, Ryan Mazza, SVP and Head of Quantitative Analytics, Research & Trading - New York at Selby Jennings, joined a panel of thought leaders for a discussion called,“Quant Finance Master’s Guide 2020: Quant Education in a New World”. The panel explored the question: What does the future hold for quant education? Ryan was joined by directors from top quant programs in the world and they discussed how they see the needs of quant education changing over the years.

“As the Quantitative Finance field continues to advance, communication across academic institutions is key in order to ensure we are equipping the future leaders with the skills they need to be successful,” says Mazza. “I enjoyed moderating this conversation and exploring how these world-renowned institutions are keeping their program’s contemporary in order to ensure financial institutions have a supply of robust and relevant Quant talent.”
