Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Vice President to join a leading private credit platform's underwriting team. This role is integral to the execution of middle-market direct lending transactions, with a focus on credit analysis, structuring, and risk assessment. The successful candidate will play a key role in evaluating investment opportunities and ensuring disciplined underwriting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead underwriting for new direct lending transactions, including detailed credit analysis, financial modelling, and risk assessment.
- Structure and negotiate deal terms in collaboration with origination and portfolio management teams.
- Prepare and present comprehensive investment memoranda to the Investment Committee.
- Conduct due diligence across financial, operational, and legal aspects of prospective borrowers.
- Monitor market trends and maintain a strong understanding of industry dynamics to inform underwriting decisions.
- Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in private credit, leveraged finance, or related fields, with a strong track record in underwriting.
- Deep understanding of credit documentation, financial modeling, and risk analysis.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Strong academic background in finance, economics, or a related discipline.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with high attention to detail.
