Trading System Developer, VP
What You'll Do
- Deliver cross‑cutting trading solutions supporting multiple businesses, including OTC, Market Making, Proprietary, and Systematic Trading.
- Work independently on complex problems, demonstrating strong analytical skills and ownership from issue identification through to resolution.
- Embrace and champion the thoughtful adoption of AI to enhance team efficiency and business outcomes.
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., generative AI, automation platforms, data copilots) to improve productivity, decision‑making, and quality of output in day‑to‑day work.
What We're Looking For
- Excellent core Java development skills.
- Extensive experience with Java application performance and garbage collection optimisation.
- Deep understanding of concurrency and multithreaded programming.
- Proven experience building low‑latency pricing and trading systems.
- Hands‑on knowledge of low‑latency messaging frameworks (e.g., Aeron, 29West).
- Strong grasp of networking fundamentals (TCP/UDP, multicast, routing, switching, congestion control) and experience with kernel bypass technologies (DPDK, Solarflare/OpenOnload, RDMA).
- Solid familiarity with Linux internals, including scheduling, memory management, and performance tuning.
Bonus Points
- eFX development experience in low‑latency, zero‑GC environments.
- Knowledge of institutional protocols and encodings (FIX, SBE).
- Experience designing fault‑tolerant, highly available distributed systems.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
