Trade Operations Analyst
A globally recognized proprietary trading firm is seeking a Trading Operations Specialist to join its fast-paced and collaborative operations team. This role supports multiple trading desks across New York and Chicago and offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of finance and technology. With offices across North America, Europe, and Asia, the firm trades a diverse range of asset classes including Fixed Income, Equities, ETFs, FX, Commodities, and Energy. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys working closely with traders, engineers, and other stakeholders to improve operational workflows and support trading activity. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills, a deep understanding of trading operations, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to trading desks, ensuring smooth execution and post-trade processes.
- Own and enhance operational workflows, tools, and systems to meet evolving business needs.
- Support and improve traders' risk management tools and ensure alignment with firm-wide standards.
- Collaborate with technology teams to enhance proprietary systems and integrate new solutions.
- Gain expertise in internal systems for trade capture, inventory, treasury, and risk management, particularly for futures and options.
- Reconcile trades and positions with clearing houses, brokers, and counterparties.
- Perform daily profit and loss (P&L) calculations and ensure accuracy through substantiation.
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience in trading operations, risk management, or related roles within financial services.
- Familiarity with futures, options, and OTC products; experience with fixed income, FX, crypto, or commodities is a plus.
- Proficiency in Python; working knowledge of Git, SQL, and Linux.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a quantitative discipline.
