Trade Desk Operations Engineer (European Coverage)
About the Position:
A proprietary trading firm is looking for a motivated team player with technical aptitude and market awareness to support the operation of our automated trading system. The role supports European trading hours and allows for a hybrid work arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Perform daily procedures related to equity market trading systems.
- Monitor system status and operational integrity from 2:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Central Time.
- Spot-check trades and system values in real time.
- Handle trading exceptions (e.g., unacknowledged orders, broken trades).
- Support change management for new software and hardware.
- Troubleshoot and escalate system incidents as needed.
- Participate in root cause analysis of issues.
- Respond to Corporate Action events.
- Collaborate on improving trading system procedures.
- Maintain trading system parameterization data.
- Automate processes and generate reports via scripting.
- Document trading-related procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or technical field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding of markets and trading.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux and Windows.
- Proficiency in a programming language (Python, Ruby, or Perl preferred).
- SQL proficiency for database interaction.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask under pressure.
- Strong problem-solving and independent work skills.
- Series 7 or 57 preferred (must pass Series 57 if not already obtained)
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 base salary plus bonus.
