Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Project Manager to lead the delivery of a low-latency FX eTrading platform built in Java. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring close collaboration with developers, stakeholders, and external partners. The ideal candidate will have experience in capital markets, particularly FX trading, and a strong understanding of real-time systems and Java-based architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive end-to-end project delivery of the FX eTrading platform.
- Manage a team of Java developers and coordinate with external freelancers.
- Define and maintain project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure low-latency performance and high reliability of the trading system.
- Liaise with stakeholders across technology, trading, and operations.
- Identify and mitigate risks throughout the development lifecycle.
- Maintain clear documentation and reporting for senior leadership.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing technical projects in electronic trading, ideally FX.
- Strong understanding of Java, low-latency systems, and multithreaded architectures.
- Experience working with capital markets, trading platforms, or market data systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment (2 days onsite in NYC).
- Ability to lead distributed teams and freelancers effectively.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with FIX protocol, market gateways, or pricing engines.
- Background in performance tuning and latency optimization.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
