ServiceNow Software Engineering Manager

We are seeking a Manager of Software Engineering to lead a Platform Team responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying enterprise technology solutions. This role involves close collaboration with software and systems engineers, business analysts, and application architects. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, effective communicator, and proactive technical leader who thrives in a fast-paced, agile, and distributed development environment.

Key Responsibilities

To succeed in this role, the candidate must be able to perform the following core duties:

  • Strategic Planning & Execution
    Define and manage the strategic roadmap for the platform, overseeing the delivery of complex, multi-system projects.
  • Collaborative Solution Development
    Partner with technical and business product owners to shape short- and long-term strategies for achieving system goals.
  • Technical Leadership
    Lead solution development teams to ensure cohesive architecture and drive process improvements that enhance platform performance.
  • Governance & Standards Compliance
    Facilitate resolution of technical challenges while ensuring adherence to organizational standards for coding, testing, and documentation.
  • Requirements Translation
    Convert complex business needs into clear technical specifications, helping development teams understand the "why" and "what" behind requirements.
  • Data & Reporting Oversight
    Lead data management and reporting initiatives to support a stable and scalable platform architecture.
  • Team Collaboration
    Foster a collaborative team environment, supporting shared goals and delivery milestones through active knowledge sharing.

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage and mentor a team of software developers.

Qualifications

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience delivering technology solutions, with a strong portfolio of real-world implementations and best practices.
  • 6+ years of experience in IT, Security, or GRC solution implementation and management.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture and data analytics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to create and present executive-level presentations.
  • Technologically curious, with a deep understanding of platform capabilities, architecture principles, and industry best practices.

Preferred Experience:

  • Background in the regulated financial services industry.

Technical Expertise

Required:

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow and familiarity with other cloud-based platforms (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Workday, Oracle Cloud).
  • Proficiency in JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of IT processes and best practices.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies and effective SCRUM practices.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • ServiceNow Certified Master Architect
  • ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
  • ITIL Certification
  • CISA Certification

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science
