Senior Software Development Manager

Join a leading fintech firm as we build a new engineering team within our Risk & Performance technology group. This strategic initiative supports our expansion into global energy and commodities markets. We're looking for a hands-on technical leader who can architect, code, and inspire a team to deliver enterprise-grade solutions for real-time risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end development of risk and performance applications for energy and commodities trading.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance systems that handle complex data and analytics.
  • Act as a technical leader and contributor-write production-quality Python code, perform code reviews, and set architectural standards.
  • Collaborate with product managers, quantitative teams, and clients to translate business needs into innovative technical solutions.
  • Drive engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native architectures.
  • Communicate technical strategy and progress to senior leadership, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop top engineering talent, fostering a culture of collaboration and technical excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • 10+ years of software development experience, including 5+ years in engineering leadership.
  • Deep expertise in energy and commodities trading and risk management systems.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python; experience with enterprise architecture patterns and distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices: design principles, testing strategies, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Hands-on experience with modern development tools and frameworks (e.g., cloud platforms, microservices, containerization).
  • Proven ability to lead teams through change and deliver results in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
