Location: Amsterdam (Hybrid or On‑site)
Industry: High‑Frequency Trading / Digital Assets
Employment: Full‑time
Experience: Mid-Senior

About the Company

A leading algorithmic trading firm in Amsterdam is expanding its ultra‑low‑latency crypto trading team. The firm operates at the intersection of cutting‑edge technology, high‑performance systems engineering, and quantitative research. With a flat structure, tight feedback loops, and a highly technical environment, engineers here own their systems end‑to‑end and have direct impact on trading performance.

The Role

As a Rust Engineer, you will design and build high‑performance components powering the firm's automated trading strategies in global cryptocurrency markets. You will work closely with traders, researchers, and other engineers to push microsecond‑level performance, improve system reliability, and scale trading infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and optimize ultra‑low‑latency systems in Rust for production trading.
  • Build high‑throughput data pipelines ingesting crypto market data from multiple venues.
  • Improve exchange connectivity, order routing, and execution logic.
  • Profile, benchmark, and optimize systems for latency and throughput at the nanosecond/microsecond level.
  • Work closely with quantitative researchers to integrate new models and strategies.
  • Contribute to architecture decisions, performance tuning, and tooling around observability and reliability.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong experience with Rust in performance‑critical systems.
  • Deep understanding of systems programming (memory management, concurrency, networking).
  • Experience with low‑latency, high‑throughput applications-ideally in trading, gaming, or distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with exchange protocols, market data, or crypto ecosystems is a plus (not required).
  • Comfort working in a fast‑moving, highly collaborative engineering environment.
  • Passion for building elegant, robust, high‑performance software.

Nice‑to‑Have

  • Experience with C/C++ or other low‑level languages.
  • Knowledge of Linux internals, kernel bypass networking, or hardware optimization.
  • Exposure to distributed systems, event‑driven architectures, or real‑time systems.
  • Interest in HFT, electronic markets, or digital asset trading.

What's Offered

  • Competitive compensation package with performance‑based bonuses.
  • Ownership, autonomy, and the ability to directly shape production systems.
  • Small, deeply technical team with minimal bureaucracy.
  • Modern engineering stack and access to cutting‑edge hardware.
  • Relocation support (if applicable).
