About the Role
We are currently partnering with a leading investment firm in London that is looking for an experienced Senior Risk Manager - Equities to join their risk team. Reporting directly to the Head of Equities Risk, this role will work closely with Portfolio Managers, Quants, and Developers to provide strategic risk guidance and enhance the equities business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled risk professional with a deep understanding of equity investments, strong technical expertise, and the ability to drive risk management processes at a global scale.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Oversight: Monitor and manage risk exposure across key equity portfolios
Portfolio Support: Work directly with Portfolio Managers to challenge and enhance investment strategies
Market & Risk Analysis: Monitor global market developments and contribute to risk scenario planning
Model & System Enhancement: Develop and refine risk models, tools, and analytics for deeper insights
Emerging Risk Identification: Proactively assess risk concentrations and develop mitigation strategies
Factor Modelling: Leverage factor models for risk forecasting, stress testing, and understanding market crowding
Global Collaboration: Work with risk teams across international markets to drive risk awareness and commercial outcomes
Key Requirements
10+ years of experience in risk, quant, structuring, or trading roles
Strong expertise in equity factor modelling, risk forecasting, and stress testing
Deep understanding of equity investment strategies
Advanced programming skills in Python for risk analysis and model development
Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders
Degree in Finance, Mathematics, or a STEM discipline (Master's preferred)
