Job Summary
The Senior Manager of GAAP & Investment Accounting oversees teams responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting under GAAP and statutory standards. This role ensures compliance, manages complex accounting operations, and drives strategic initiatives across insurance and non-insurance entities. It includes leadership of professionals and managers, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation and review of financial statements (GAAP & Statutory).
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage complex accounting transactions and maintain financial integrity.
- Oversee reporting for insurance and non-insurance entities.
- Implement new accounting standards and update processes accordingly.
- Maintain and improve financial systems and controls.
- Respond to audits and regulatory inquiries.
- Identify and execute process improvements.
- Support strategic decision-making across departments.
- Lead talent development, performance management, and succession planning.
- Manage team priorities, workloads, and departmental budget.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in financial accounting or reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Core Competencies

Technical Skills
Financial statement analysis, accounting software, budget management, auditing, risk management, reconciliation, and project leadership.
