Location: Remote or Hybrid (depending on candidate location)
Position Overview:
One of the top tier insurance carriers is looking to bring on an experienced property claims professional to the team as an AVP of Property. This role will be responsible for overseeing & managing property claims outcomes while working with additional company functions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with first-party property litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee complex litigated claims, ensuring they are managed strategically and consistently throughout the litigation process.
- Partner with legal teams to select defense counsel, assess case strengths, and craft effective litigation strategies.
- Negotiate settlements and implement creative approaches to resolve disputes outside of traditional litigation.
- Deliver presentations to senior claims and underwriting leaders, highlighting key case developments and emerging litigation trends.
- Contribute expertise to the design and delivery of litigation training programs for internal staff and third-party administrators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, JD preferred.
- 6+ years of experience in first-party property claims.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
