About the Role
As a Java Backend Developer, you will play a key role in enhancing and maintaining our cloud‑based platform that enables automated financing and leasing processes. You will work on backend systems built in Java and deployed in a cloud environment, contributing to new features and improving system efficiency.
Your work will include:
- Automating internal decision‑making and assessment processes to support a fully digital customer journey.
- Integrating external services and APIs used for verification and assessment checks.
- Implementing business logic to support application approval workflows.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant financial, regulatory, and privacy requirements.

Job Requirements
You are a proactive team player with strong problem‑solving abilities and a desire to continuously learn. You approach challenges with initiative and enjoy transforming customer needs into robust technical solutions. You should have:
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, ICT, or a comparable field (HBO/WO or equivalent).
- 5+ years of hands-on Java development experience (Java 17+ preferred); OCP certification is a plus.
- Experience with Node.js/TypeScript.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, design patterns, and enterprise Java frameworks such as Spring Boot or Jakarta EE.
- Experience with service‑oriented architectures, message brokers, REST APIs, and system integration.
- Familiarity with DevOps tooling (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS or Azure).
- Willingness to obtain any required domain‑specific financial certifications.
Nice to Have
Experience with any of the following is considered a plus:
- Integration testing tools (JUnit, Cucumber, Testcontainers)
- CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket Pipelines)
- MySQL
- CQRS, Event Sourcing
