About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Reinsurance Accounting to join our growing specialty Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance organization. This highly visible leadership role will oversee all reinsurance accounting functions and ensure accuracy, compliance, and excellence across both ceded and assumed reinsurance portfolios.

What You'll Do
- Lead end‑to‑end reinsurance accounting operations including ceded, assumed, and retrocession activities for a diverse P&C portfolio.
- Oversee accurate and timely preparation of statutory (SAP) and regulatory reports, ensuring full compliance with NAIC and state insurance requirements.
- Collaborate closely with actuarial, underwriting, claims, and finance to validate data, support pricing insights, and ensure alignment across functions.
- Manage quarterly and annual close processes and support internal/external audits.
- Review reinsurance contracts and placements for accounting accuracy and financial impacts.
- Drive process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reporting quality, and internal controls.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required).
- 7+ years of experience in P&C insurance accounting, with strong expertise in reinsurance accounting.
- Deep knowledge of statutory accounting principles (SAP); GAAP experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of P&C reinsurance structures, schedules, contract terms, and financial implications.
- Exceptional analytical skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated leadership ability with strong communication and collaboration skills.
