Responsibilities of Senior Data Engineer (Market Data, Python)
* Design and implement systems using Python with a focus on performance and scalability
* Maintain high development standards including testing, CI/CD, and clean architecture
* Enhance and support legacy systems (e.g., microservices, ETL pipelines, Excel add-ins)
* Improve infrastructure via IaC, disaster recovery, and observability (logs, alerts, monitoring)
* Manage Windows/Linux servers and databases (backups, replication, troubleshooting)
* Provide technical support, monitor system health, and respond to user queries
* Understand and optimize the medallion data architecture for ingestion, processing, and storage
* Contribute to external data acquisition and integration into the market data platform
Requirements of Senior Data Engineer (Market Data, Python)
* 5+ years of software development experience, ideally in data-intensive or distributed systems
* Strong hands-on proficiency in Python development; experience with relational, NoSQL, and columnar databases
* Familiarity with DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code, and system monitoring
* Comfortable managing Linux/Windows servers and handling backups, replication, and troubleshooting
* Able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-project environment
* Interest or experience in financial/market data and data engineering is a plus
