Our client is a market-leading employee benefits consulting firm with one of the most respected Taft-Hartley and multiemployer consulting practices. The firm advises some of the nation's largest labor-management trust funds on health and welfare strategy, actuarial and financial planning, healthcare funding, vendor procurement, and long-term fund sustainability.
Due to continued growth and succession planning initiatives, the firm is seeking a Senior Consultant who can ultimately grow into a senior leadership position within the practice. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced consultant who combines strong analytical capabilities with relationship management and business development acumen.
Position Summary
The Senior Consultant will serve as a trusted advisor to Taft-Hartley health and welfare funds, partnering with trustees, plan administrators, and fund leadership on complex financial and strategic challenges.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in analytics, underwriting, actuarial consulting, or healthcare financial analysis, along with experience consulting directly to multiemployer plans. In addition to client leadership responsibilities, this individual will play an active role in practice growth and will be viewed as a potential successor to an established Practice Leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as lead consultant for a portfolio of Taft-Hartley and multiemployer health and welfare clients.
- Advise Boards of Trustees on healthcare funding strategies, plan design, contribution modeling, reserve management, and long-term financial sustainability.
- Analyze claims experience, utilization trends, healthcare costs, and funding projections to develop strategic recommendations.
- Prepare and present financial analyses and consulting recommendations at trustee meetings.
- Partner with actuarial, underwriting, pharmacy, and data analytics teams on complex client engagements.
- Lead RFPs and vendor evaluations involving carriers, PBMs, TPAs, care navigation solutions, and other healthcare vendors.
- Develop long-term strategic plans designed to improve fund performance and participant outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with trustees, fund administrators, union leadership, and contributing employers.
- Participate in business development activities, industry conferences, and finalist presentations.
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience within a health and welfare consulting firm, employee benefits consulting organization, or specialized multiemployer consulting practice.
- Direct Taft-Hartley or multiemployer consulting experience is required.
- Background in actuarial consulting, underwriting, healthcare analytics, financial consulting, or related quantitative disciplines.
- Strong understanding of self-funded health plans, healthcare financing, contribution strategies, reserve funding, and plan governance.
- Demonstrated ability to present complex financial information to Boards of Trustees and executive stakeholders.
- Business development mindset with the ability to identify growth opportunities and deepen client relationships.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Bachelor's degree required.

Compensation
Base Salary: $175,000-$250,000+ depending on experience
Bonus: Annual performance-based incentive tied to client growth, retention, and business development contributions.
