Position Overview:
Our client, an A+ rated AM Best carrier is looking to bring on an experienced Senior Claims Specialist, NYLL to the team. This role will be responsible for managing a pending of NYLL claims while utilizing strategic decision making to maximize efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in Excess and/or Primary Casualty claims including New York Labor Law.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine policy applicability and craft tailored communications on coverage positions, leveraging outside legal perspectives when required.
- Establish and carry out resolution plans that address exposure across liability, damages, and coverage considerations.
- Perform in-depth claim evaluations by analyzing documentation, legal filings, jurisdictional requirements, and technical expert findings.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to guide litigation approach, handle contractual exposure issues, and align all parties on case direction.
- Direct the end-to-end handling of claims, including financial evaluations, senior-level reporting, settlement discussions, and involvement in key proceedings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or related field.
- 2+ years NYLL claims handling experience.
- Strong analytic and communication skills.
