Overview
A growing property & casualty insurance organization, is seeking a Senior Actuarial Analyst to support pricing, reserving, and data analytics initiatives across multiple insurance products and jurisdictions. This role offers broad exposure to actuarial functions, including rate reviews, reserve analyses, regulatory filings, and collaboration with business stakeholders throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform pricing analyses, including rate adequacy reviews, internal rate indications, and evaluation of internal and external data sources.
- Develop and enhance pricing methodologies, tools, and reporting processes.
- Prepare and support rate filings across multiple states and lines of business.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of rating plans, rules, and rate manuals.
- Research competitor products, rates, forms, and market trends.
- Conduct reserving analyses, including reserve reviews and IBNR monitoring.
- Support the design, implementation, and enhancement of reserving tools and processes.
- Partner with accounting, auditors, consultants, and actuarial stakeholders to support financial reporting and actuarial opinions.
- Provide actuarial support for underwriting, product management, pricing, and reserving initiatives.
- Perform data extraction, validation, reconciliation, reporting, and automation projects.
- Ensure data quality and maintain thorough documentation of assumptions, methodologies, and calculations.
- Stay informed on industry trends, regulatory developments, and emerging actuarial techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately 5+ years of actuarial experience within the property & casualty insurance industry.
- Experience with pricing, reserving, rate filings, and regulatory interactions preferred.
- Homeowners insurance experience is a plus.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Experience with SQL, Oracle, MySQL, or similar database technologies preferred.
- Experience with R, Python, VBA, or comparable programming languages preferred.
- Strong data management, automation, and problem-solving skills.
