Senior Accountant - Life Reinsurance
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead preparation for initial GAAP audit, including workpapers, reconciliations, and documentation.
- Develop processes and controls for annual GAAP audit cycles.
- Prepare GAAP and statutory journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
- Maintain GAAP-to-STAT differences and support regulatory filings.
- Design and implement internal controls aligned with MAR/SOX standards.
- Collaborate across actuarial, investments, treasury, and operations teams.
- Provide support for budgeting, expense tracking, investment accounting, and reinsurance reporting.
- Contribute to risk assessment processes (ORSA) and internal audit projects.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred but not required.
- 4-6 years of experience in insurance accounting or audit (life & annuity preferred).
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and statutory accounting.
- Audit engagement experience (GAAP or STAT).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
