SEC Manager
We are partnering with a publicly traded organization seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee external reporting and technical accounting activities. This role will be responsible for managing SEC filings, supporting complex accounting matters, maintaining reporting compliance, and partnering across finance, legal, audit, and SOX functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review, and timely filing of quarterly and annual SEC reports, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K.
- Monitor emerging accounting and reporting standards and assess the impact of new SEC and U.S. GAAP guidance on the organization.
- Research and document technical accounting issues, prepare accounting position papers, and update accounting policies as needed.
- Partner with internal stakeholders, external auditors, and legal teams to support reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Support and maintain a strong SOX compliance environment related to external reporting and financial controls.
- Oversee technical accounting areas such as equity accounting, stock-based compensation, earnings per share, goodwill, and other complex transactions.
- Assist with special projects, process improvements, and implementation of new reporting requirements.
- Mentor and develop accounting staff while providing exposure to broader corporate accounting and reporting responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's in Accounting preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in SEC reporting, financial reporting, technical accounting, or public accounting.
- CPA license or CPA exam completion required.
- Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements, U.S. GAAP, and financial statement disclosures.
- Experience with SOX compliance and internal controls over financial reporting.
- Ability to research and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Experience with financial reporting and consolidation systems is highly preferred.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and with external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to develop and mentor team members.

- Experience with financial reporting platforms and disclosure management tools.
- Exposure to equity accounting, stock compensation, earnings per share, goodwill, and other complex accounting topics.
- Experience driving reporting process improvements and automation initiatives.
