Risk Control Supervisor (Gas, LNG)
We are seeking a technically skilled Risk Control Supervisor to lead risk control and reporting for Gas & LNG operations. This newly created role is critical to supporting the integrity and growth of trading activities across North America. You will ensure accurate risk assessment, reporting, and compliance for a diverse portfolio including natural gas, LNG, and other commodities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts responsible for position and P&L reporting.
- Oversee risk analytics and controls for physical and financial trading, transportation, storage, and marketing.
- Partner with Front Office to assess risk impact of transactions and support strategic decisions.
- Develop and implement risk policies, procedures, and reporting frameworks.
- Ensure compliance with internal limits and regulatory requirements.
- Act as liaison across Legal, Finance, Credit, and Trading Systems teams.
- Drive system enhancements and safeguard trading platforms against cyber threats.
- Represent North American operations in global risk control initiatives.
Candidate Profile
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including Python for data modeling and automation.
- Expertise in risk metrics (VaR, Max Loss) and data analysis.
- Solid mathematical foundation for valuation and risk modeling.
- Familiarity with trading systems and data security best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, or related field (Required).
- Master's degree or professional certification (preferred).
- 3-5 years in a mid-office commodity trading environment as an Analyst or Lead. (Required)
- Prior supervisory experience is a plus, but strong analysts ready for the next step will be considered.
- Deep understanding of North American Natural Gas & LNG markets. (Required)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
