About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing boutique financial advisory firm and is seeking experienced Turnaround & Restructuring professionals to join its expanding team. The firm advises companies, boards, lenders, investors, and other key stakeholders through complex situations involving financial distress, operational challenges, liquidity constraints, and strategic change.

This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial, highly experienced team working on sophisticated restructuring and special situations engagements. Professionals will gain significant exposure to senior executives, lenders, investors, attorneys, and other restructuring stakeholders while playing a hands-on role in solving critical financial and operational challenges.

The position is remote, with access to the firm's New York office for professionals who prefer an in-office or hybrid environment. Our client has seen exponential growth and a strong deal flow, which is why they are hiring across multiple levels.

Levels Being Considered

  • Senior Associate: 3+ years of relevant experience; strong deal and modeling experience (T&R is a plus)
  • Director: 7+ years of relevant experience; must have prior T&R experience
  • Senior Director: 10+ years of relevant experience; must have prior T&R experience

Responsibilities and expectations will scale based on experience and level.

What You'll Do

  • Advise companies and stakeholders through complex turnaround, restructuring, and distressed situations
  • Develop and analyze 13-week cash flow forecasts, liquidity models, financial projections, and integrated financial models
  • Assess liquidity needs, capital structures, operating performance, and potential restructuring alternatives
  • Support both in-court and out-of-court restructuring processes
  • Assist with business plans, financial forecasts, scenario analyses, and recovery strategies
  • Work closely with company management teams, boards, lenders, investors, attorneys, and other professional advisors
  • Analyze large and complex financial and operational data sets to identify key business trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Prepare executive-level presentations and other client-facing materials
  • Support negotiations and communications with lenders, creditors, investors, and other constituencies
  • Participate in turnaround, performance improvement, lender/creditor advisory, distressed M&A, and other special situations engagements
  • At the Director and Senior Director levels, take increasing ownership of client relationships, engagement execution, team leadership, and business development

Ideal Background

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in turnaround and restructuring, financial advisory, distressed consulting, investment banking, credit, or a related field
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, particularly around liquidity, cash flow, and financial statements
  • Experience working with underperforming, distressed, or highly leveraged businesses
  • Understanding of corporate finance, capital structures, debt instruments, and restructuring concepts
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-moving situations with tight deadlines and imperfect information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable interacting directly with clients and senior-level stakeholders
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline
  • CPA, CFA, CIRA, MBA, or other relevant credentials are a plus but not required

Why Join?

This opportunity is particularly well suited for someone who wants the complexity and caliber of work associated with a leading restructuring platform, but within a smaller, entrepreneurial advisory environment. The firm's public positioning emphasizes a boutique operating model and direct client access to experienced professionals.

Professionals can expect:

  • Significant responsibility and client exposure
  • Lean engagement teams and direct interaction with senior professionals
  • Exposure to complex, high-stakes restructuring and turnaround situations
  • Opportunities to work across industries and stakeholder groups
