The firm focuses on unlocking value through active asset management, navigating complex situations, and building long‑term, trusted partnerships grounded in transparency and collaboration.
As an Investments Associate, you will play a key role in evaluating, underwriting, and executing transactions across a diverse set of real estate sectors. You will work closely with senior team members within the team's flat, collaborative organizational structure, contributing meaningfully to the firm's investment decision‑making process.
Key Responsibilities
- Source & Evaluate Opportunities: Support the identification of new investment opportunities across the firm's core geographies, focusing on high‑quality assets in prime locations with potential for value creation.
- Lead Underwriting & Due Diligence: Conduct financial analysis, underwriting, and comprehensive due diligence for acquisitions, including assets that are undermanaged, underutilized, or require complex capital solutions.
- Investment Committee Materials: Prepare high‑quality investment memoranda and participate in presentations to the Investment Committee, clearly articulating business plans, risks, and value‑creation strategies.
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain sophisticated Excel models to evaluate projected returns, capital structures, and asset‑level performance across a range of sectors and investment strategies.
- Market & Asset Research: Conduct deep market analysis to support investment theses, focusing on macro trends across US markets where the team actively invests.
- Transaction Execution: Coordinate with legal counsel, lending partners, and third‑party consultants to efficiently manage transaction processes and closings.
- Pipeline Management: Track pipeline activity, manage key deal milestones, and update internal reporting dashboards with underwriting metrics and strategic insights.
- Strategic Recommendations: Develop thoughtful perspectives on pricing, deal structuring, capital deployment, and risk assessment in alignment with the team's value‑add and opportunistic approach.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5 years in real estate acquisitions, private equity, investment banking, or a closely related discipline.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, economics, or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel modeling skills; familiarity with Argus preferred.
- Analytical Strength: Strong grasp of real estate valuation-including IRR, equity multiple, DCF, NOI, and comparable analyses.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to distill complex analyses into clear insights for senior stakeholders.
- Organizational Ability: Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple time‑sensitive projects.
- Travel: Willingness to travel for on‑site property tours, market diligence, and meetings with local operating partners.
