Python Quant Developer

We are a recruiting firm partnered with a highly successful equity trading pod that is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Python Quant Developer to join their systematic research and development team. This is an exceptional opportunity to work within a fast-paced, collaborative environment where you will be able to apply your Python programming skills to the exciting world of quantitative finance. You’ll play an essential role in developing and maintaining quantitative models and tools to support advanced trading strategies and risk management processes, working alongside experienced professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborative Development: Work closely with senior quants, developers, and traders to design, develop, and maintain Python-based quantitative models and tools that drive trading strategies.
  • Algorithm Optimization: Implement and optimize algorithms for both trading strategies and risk management to improve decision-making and performance.
  • Real-time Data Processing: Develop and support systems for real-time data processing and analytics to support trading operations.
  • Efficient Coding: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code that adheres to best practices in software development and ensures long-term maintainability.
  • Data Analysis & Backtesting: Conduct comprehensive data analysis and backtesting to validate and refine trading models, helping improve overall strategy performance.

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of full-time experience in a related role, ideally within finance or a quantitative development environment.
  • Strong Programming Skills: Solid understanding of Python and experience with key data analysis libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and SciPy.
  • Financial Knowledge: Basic understanding of financial markets and quantitative finance, with a desire to deepen your knowledge of trading systems.
  • Tech Skills: Experience with market data feeds and APIs (e.g., Bloomberg, Reuters), and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Machine Learning: Knowledge of machine learning techniques and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow) is a plus, with an interest in applying these skills to enhance trading models.
