Overview:
Our client, a $90B+ AUM private credit investment firm, is looking to add a Senior Associate or Vice President to its underwriting team focused on asset-based finance (ABF) and cash flow-based corporate lending. The team invests across a range of complex, often bespoke credit opportunities, including collateralized lending to specialty finance platforms as well as more traditional middle-market corporate borrowers.
This role is ideal for a credit-trained professional who wants to work on both ABF and corporate cash flow transactions, with significant responsibility for underwriting, structuring, credit documentation, and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead or support underwriting efforts across a mix of ABF and corporate lending transactions.
Build and manage detailed financial models; analyze company performance, collateral pools, and capital structures.
Draft comprehensive investment committee materials and participate in internal approval processes.
Partner with internal legal and external counsel to negotiate and review credit documentation, including term sheets, loan agreements, and intercreditor arrangements.
Conduct industry and counterparty diligence; coordinate with third-party advisors and internal portfolio teams.
Participate in post-close portfolio monitoring, performance tracking, and amendments/restructurings when applicable.
Candidate Profile:
3-8 years of experience in investment banking, private credit, opportunistic credit structured finance, leveraged finance, or asset-based lending.
Strong credit fundamentals, with experience underwriting both collateral-based and enterprise-value-based credit.
Solid understanding of legal documentation and transaction structuring.
Strong modeling and analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to think critically about risk.
Team player with excellent communication and organizational skills.
