The Role
An established and growing European private capital manager is seeking a Senior Associate or Junior Principal to join its private credit team covering the DACH region. The position offers significant responsibility across deal sourcing, execution, and portfolio oversight, with close interaction alongside senior investment professionals, sponsors, and management teams.
This role suits someone looking to step into a more commercial, deal‑driven position with increasing autonomy and visibility across transactions.
Responsibilities
- Supporting origination and execution of private credit investments in lower to mid‑market companies
- Assessing potential transactions through detailed financial, commercial, and credit analysis
- Developing and reviewing sophisticated financial models to analyse leverage, cash generation, and downside risk
- Producing investment materials and recommendations for internal approval forums
- Assisting in the negotiation and review of transaction documentation in collaboration with senior colleagues and advisors
- Engaging with company management teams, financial sponsors, and intermediaries throughout the deal process
- Monitoring existing investments and contributing to ongoing performance analysis and reporting
- Preparing high‑quality presentations and analytical materials for internal and external use
- Building relationships within the regional private capital ecosystem
- Playing an active role in internal initiatives as the investment platform continues to scale
Candidate Requirements
- 5-7 years' experience in private credit, leveraged finance, direct lending, or debt advisory
- Strong technical foundation in credit analysis, structuring, and risk evaluation
- Proven experience working on executed transactions across the capital structure
- Familiarity with loan and intercreditor documentation
- Highly organised with strong process and stakeholder management skills
- Confident communicator, capable of presenting complex analysis clearly
- Hands‑on, commercially minded, and comfortable operating in a fast‑paced investment environment
- Existing DACH network among sponsors, advisors, or lending professionals is beneficial
- Fluent German with strong written and spoken English
- Solid academic background in finance, economics, business, or a related discipline
