Personal Lines Sales Manager
Responsibilities
This leadership role is responsible for overseeing the personal lines sales and client retention team. The manager sets and tracks sales goals, supports team development, and drives new business initiatives. The role requires strong leadership, a commitment to service excellence, and alignment with the organization's mission and values.
Key Duties
- Provide guidance to sales staff and support team on underwriting, coverage, and procedural questions.
- Collaborate with account managers and retention specialists to maintain client relationships.
- Establish and monitor individual and team sales targets.
- Lead efforts to generate new business and expand existing client relationships.
- Review and support quoting processes to ensure accuracy and effectiveness in closing sales.
- Oversee the sales pipeline to ensure timely follow-up and quoting.
- Conduct proactive account reviews with clients to identify coverage gaps, offer discounts, and cross-sell additional services.
- Facilitate regular sales meetings, prepare agendas, and generate performance reports.
- Audit team activities to ensure compliance with internal systems and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and organized client records using agency management software.
- Participate in internal and external meetings related to financial services and insurance.
- Represent the organization at community events and industry seminars.
- Collaborate with marketing and leadership to develop and evaluate promotional campaigns.
- Lead or participate in process improvement initiatives.
- Review and update departmental procedures as needed.
- Manage timekeeping, vacation requests, and annual performance reviews for team members.
- Coordinate meetings with insurance carrier representatives to stay informed on industry updates.
- Handle office supply orders and equipment issues.
- Manage branch-level financial tracking and reporting.
- Oversee lead distribution and case tracking from digital and marketing sources.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and calculate success ratios.
- Identify opportunities to refer clients to other business units within the organization.
- Consistently model and promote the organization's core values and service standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by senior leadership.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of insurance products, agency operations, and industry best practices.
- Proven leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with standard office and insurance software systems.
- Holds state insurance licenses and professional designations (e.g., ACSR, CISR).
- Willingness to travel for training or to support other office locations as needed.
