Performance Improvement Director (FP&A)
Location: New York and Chicago preferred. Open to remote in certain cases.
The Performance Improvement Director (FP&A) leads financial planning and analysis initiatives aimed at strengthening performance, profitability, and operational efficiency with a variety of clients. This individual partners closely with senior leadership to drive strategic improvements, optimize financial processes, and enable data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and analytics.
- Conducts financial and operational analyses to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Develops KPIs, dashboards, and reporting frameworks to support transparent performance management.
- Leads cross-functional initiatives focused on margin improvement, productivity, and process efficiency.
- Advises leadership through scenario modeling, financial strategy, and operational insights.
- Builds and develops a high-performing FP&A and performance improvement team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation preferred.
- An MBA or other relevant advanced professional qualification is highly desirable.
- 10+ years of consulting and/or industry experience, with a focus on finance transformation, process improvement, M&A, and organizational change.
- Deep experience in FP&A leadership, financial modeling and value creation initiatives
- Proven ability to manage complex engagements, provide strategic direction, and deliver results in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience, with the ability to direct, mentor, and develop junior staff.
- Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of project management methodologies, business processes, and best practices in finance transformation.
