We are partnering with a leading trading outfit seeking a Middle Distillates Trading Analyst, the role based in Asia.
The key responsibility of the distillates analyst is to support the proprietary traders covering Atlantic Basin distillates markets (US & Europe), with a focus on ULSD, gasoil, and jet fuel fundamentals and derivatives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor refinery activity, product balances, inventory trends, and weekly data releases across USGC, USAC, ARA, and Mediterranean markets.
- Analyse trans‑Atlantic arbitrage economics, freight impacts, and regional pricing relationships.
- Track futures and swaps structure, including cracks, time spreads, and inter‑product spreads.
- Maintain and improve pricing models, supply‑demand frameworks, and market dashboards.
- Produce concise, trade‑relevant summaries highlighting key Atlantic distillates developments.
- Support traders with scenario analysis, market interpretation, and strategy evaluation.
Requirements
- 3-7 years' experience in distillates, energy market analysis, or commodity derivatives research.
- Strong understanding of Atlantic Basin fundamentals and distillates market behaviour.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and Excel with the ability to build analytical tools.
- Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear, actionable insights.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, trading-oriented environment.
