Selby Jennings is proud to be working in partnership with a leading personal lines insurer, currently seeking a Lead Pricing Analyst to join their Market Pricing team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and analytically driven individual to lead the development of advanced pricing strategies and machine learning models that directly influence the growth and profitability of the business. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering pricing projects, mentoring analysts, and shaping the strategic direction of retail pricing across the organisation.
You'll work closely with senior stakeholders, data scientists, and pricing professionals, leveraging cutting-edge statistical techniques and optimisation tools to deliver impactful pricing recommendations. The role offers exposure to a wide range of modelling approaches and data sources, with a strong emphasis on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver pricing projects that drive conversion, retention, and profitability.
- Manage and mentor a team of Pricing Analysts, fostering technical growth and capability.
- Develop and validate predictive machine learning models using advanced statistical techniques.
- Explore new data sources and modelling approaches to enhance pricing accuracy.
- Maintain and optimise behavioural models incorporating machine learning algorithms.
- Present actionable pricing recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Champion innovation in price optimisation and modelling processes.
Role Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in insurance pricing or a related analytical field.
- Strong programming skills in SAS and at least one of R, Python, Matlab, or Octave.
- Experience with predictive modelling techniques such as GLMs, GBMs, GAMs, Decision Trees, Random Forests, SVMs, and Neural Nets.
- Knowledge of price optimisation methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
