Position Overview
As an Investment Associate on our Business Services team, you will play a critical role in all aspects of the investment lifecycle-from sourcing and evaluating new opportunities to executing transactions and supporting portfolio companies post-close. This is a high-impact role ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills, transaction experience, and a passion for building businesses in the lower middle market.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Sourcing & Evaluation
- Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify attractive investment opportunities in the business services sector.
- Support the development of investment theses and sourcing strategies.
- Evaluate inbound deal flow and assist in screening potential targets.
Due Diligence & Execution
- Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, and scenario planning.
- Coordinate due diligence efforts across legal, financial, operational, and commercial workstreams.
- Prepare investment committee materials and support deal structuring and negotiations.
Portfolio Management
- Collaborate with portfolio company management teams to track performance and identify growth initiatives.
- Monitor key financial and operational metrics and assist in strategic planning.
- Support add-on acquisitions and integration efforts.
Internal Initiatives
- Contribute to firm-wide knowledge sharing, process improvement, and strategic planning.
- Mentor interns and junior team members as needed.
Qualifications
- 1-4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, management consulting, or a related field.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated interest in the business services sector and lower middle market investing.
- Self-starter with a collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field; MBA or other advanced degree a plus but not required.
